The Green Building Initiative™ (GBI) administers Green Globes certification, a whole building certification system that is designed to measures a project’s sustainability across the categories of site, energy, water, materials, indoor environment, and operations.
New Construction and Existing Buildings of all types from multifamily to commercial office can be certified nationwide. The certification is based on a 1,000-point scoring system, allocated by weighed criteria. The highest weighted criteria for point allocation is energy assessment. Using weighted criteria provides flexibility for building owners by removing prerequisites, including the use of non-applicable criteria, and offering partial credit. This flexibility allows the owner to concentrate on environmental features that are relevant to their building, while avoiding undue and unnecessary scoring penalties and fees.
Green Globes is an approved certification standard for Fannie Mae Multifamily Green Financing and Freddie Mac Multifamily Green Advantage. It is also approved for projects pursuing the Nevada Green Building Tax Abatement.
Partner Energy provides full-service support for the Green Globes certification process. Our team includes Green Globes certified Professionals (GGP) who can support clients in the certification process as well as Green Globes Assessors (GGA) who can conduct the final verification and certification award for the property.
