The Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy has administered the Nevada Green Building Tax Abatement Program (GBTA) since 2007. GBTA provides a partial property tax abatement for new multifamily and non-residential green buildings, as well as existing buildings that are renovated to meet certain green building standards.

To qualify for this property tax abatement, applicants must achieve either LEED Silver or higher through the LEED certification system or 2 Globes through the Green Globes rating system.

LEED and Green Globes certifications helps building owners measure operations, improvements and maintenance with a goal of maximizing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impacts. They help distinguish high-performance commercial and institutional projects, including office building, high-rise residential buildings, government buildings, recreational facilities, manufacturing plants and laboratories.

Partner Energy can assist clients with both the LEED certification and Green Globes certification process and have supported dozens of building through the Nevada Green Building Tax Abatement program.
