San Francisco Existing Buildings Energy Performance Ordinance
San Francisco’s energy disclosure law (San Francisco Environment Code Chapter 20) applies to non-residential buildings with 10,000 square feet or more of heated or cooled space and residential buildings 50,000 square feet or more.
The ordinance has two separate requirements:
- Annual energy benchmarking due by April 1st
- Conduct an energy audit every 5 years
