Summary
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) is offering reduced interest rates on loans for qualified buyers of energy efficient homes. Homes must be a new construction exceeding Washington state energy standards by 15% or more, or existing homes that can be upgraded for 10% energy savings over its current use. An energy assessment is required for homebuyers using EnergySpark to purchase an existing home.
To qualify for the program, home buyers must have household income under $180,000.
The EnergySpark program works with WSHFC's Home Advantage Loan program, and provides qualified buyers a 0.25% interest rate reduction on their home loan. Interested participants must also attend a homebuyer-seminar sponsored by WSHFC prior to receiving funding. Loans are provided through participating lenders, and those receiving an EnergySpark loan may also qualify for down payment assistance.
*WSHFC may not be able to offer a 0.25% interest rate reduction on all days and on every rate.
