Summary

NOTICE: All Commercial and Small Business Rebates are eligible for an additional bonus of up to 30% over current incentive levels. The total Austin Energy rebate cannot exceed 95% of the total project cost. Installation must be completed by 12/31/2022 to qualify.

Austin Energy offers incentives for the construction and major renovation of commercial buildings within its service territory. Rebates are offered for a variety of energy efficiency improvements, including:

  • Guest room controllers
  • HVAC
  • New Construction Lighting
  • Thermal Energy Storage
  • Transformers
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Heat Pump Water Heaters
  • Custom Technologies

Equipment/retrofits must operate weekdays between 3 and 6pm June through September. Electricity must be the primary fuel type for all equipment. Rebates will only be provided if the equipment upgrade reduces energy requirements below energy efficiency requirements as stated in City of Austin Energy Code Chapter 25-12-261.
