New Hampshire Electric Co-op offers incentives to its commercial and municipal members to encourage energy efficiency when building a new facility, undergoing a major renovation, or replacing failed (end-of-life) equipment. The program offers prescriptive and custom rebates designed to cover the lesser of a one-year payback, or 75% of incremental difference in the cost of purchasing standard equipment compared to purchasing an energy-efficient equivalent, up to the member's incentive cap. Rebates are available for energy-efficient lighting and controls, energy-efficient motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), HVAC equipment and controls, chillers, and approved custom projects.  For full details on program terms and conditions, visit the program website listed above.

NHEC also offers SmartSTART financing, where eligible projects can be financed through the savings generated by the products themselves. SmartSTART eligible projects include weatherization, lighting and lighting controls, and other verifiable energy-saving measures.
