Summary
Kansas statute requires that construction documents for the construction of a new building or for major renovations for the “use or benefit of a state agency…prescribe standards for energy conservation which provide the highest level of energy conservation and efficiency that is practical” (K.S.A. 75-1259(d)). Specially, projects must comply with ASHRAE 90.1-2007 or the International Energy Conservation Code 2006 (K.S.A. 75-37,129).
State agencies owning property must conduct an energy audit every 5 years (Kansas Statutes 75-37, 128).
