Fundamental Commissioning is a prerequisite for LEED NC, CI, and Schools projects and includes the following energy-related systems: HVAC, lighting and daylighting, domestic hot water, and renewable energy. The process includes a review of the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD), incorporation of commissioning specifications, implementation of a Cx Plan, verification of the installation and performance of the building systems, and delivery of a Cx Report. Fundamental Commissioning is a prerequisite for LEED certification for all rating systems (except EBOM and ND). LEED Energy and Atmosphere Perquisite 1: Fundamental Commissioning of the Building Energy Systems (EA Prerequisite 1) requires HVAC, lighting, hot water heating, controls, and renewable energy commissioning.
