ENERGY STAR® Certification

​The ENERGY STAR® building certification is recognition by the US EPA for buildings that achieve an ENERGY STAR Performance Score of 75 or higher—meaning they are in the top 25 percent for energy efficiency in the nation compared with similar buildings—and are professionally verified to meet current indoor environment standards are eligible to apply for the ENERGY STAR.​ The data used for comparative purposes is sourced from the Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS). Not all building types are eligible for ENERGY STAR Certification. Refer to the EPA website for eligible building types.
